The premiere of 500 Capp Street presents the newly restored conservation and restoration of David Ireland’s house, using the exciting milestone of public reopening as an opportunity to highlight the house as an artwork and a home. The house contains a focused selection of objects and ephemera that connect directly to the house, encouraging an understanding of the ways Ireland considered the physical and social aspects of a home by blurring a traditional art practice with actions of labor, maintenance, and life. Through active public programming, including a lively opening weekend, we introduce ourselves to the community.
