Faces of Fracking: Opening Night in the Presidio

Join us on Thursday, April 9th, at the Seed Gallery, Tides Thoreau Center, in the Presidio of San Francisco, CA for the second installation of Faces of Fracking, a deep journalistic investigation into the impact of fracking on the people and places of California. Photographer Sarah Craig and writer Tara Lohan visited communities across the state to document how fracking affects the people who live there, those who may soon be impacted if the practice spreads, and how they are fighting back. Come to see firsthand the people on the front lines of fracking and those engaged in the grassroots movement against it. At 6pm, there will be a presentation by Sarah and two other leading experts on fracking in the state: Andrew Grinberg, Oil & Gas Program Manager with Clean Water Action and Tia Lebherz with Food & Water Watch. There will be an audience Q&A following the talk. Refreshments will be provided. P.S. Bring your smart phones and download a QR reader to listen to the people talk about their stories! There will also be a special data vizualization set-up to see where fracking is happening in the state.
