Alejandro Almanza Pereda will be visiting the Bay Area as an artist-in-residence at San Francisco Art Institute. During his stay he will be making new work for a solo show opening on July 28th, 2015 at the Walter and McBean Gallery at SFAI. Please join Alejandro and a small group for a hike led by artist Miguel Arzabe in Huckleberry Regional Botanic Preserve in the Oakland Hills. The unique ecosystem supports diverse and rare flora. The walk will begin with a moderately steep climb on a narrow, wooded path through a shaded canyon and will last approximately 2.5 hours. We will stop at the ridgeline to rest, snack, and enjoy the views. Please bring a hat, snack, and water. The group will be limited to 8 people. Transportation will be arranged amongst the participants. Bring sturdy walking shoes. No dogs allowed.
