Light/Dark is a show of paintings by the Bay Area Studio Artists that illustrate the myriad ways the play of light and dark contribute to the success of an artwork. Among the works on display is, Robin: A Spark in the Dark, a large-scale portrait of Robin Williams, made up of 24-10x10 inch canvases, each painted by a different artist. This signature piece is designed as a meditation on two ideas of light and dark: the light and dark patterns and balances that make a painting visually compelling and the lights and darks that represent the emotional highs and lows in our lives, epitomized by the well-loved comedian, who embodied the brightest of light as well as the darker side of reality. The group will present an Artists' Talk and Tour of the exhibit at a reception Sunday, Nov. 15, from 1-3. The talk begins at 1:30PM.
