It is with great pleasure that The Growlery announces an exhibition presenting the work of artist Michael Koehle, opening on July 15, 2016. The works in Strange Terrain are two dimensional images which have been stretched into three-dimensional reliefs, each produced in a unique way, exploring both new ways of image production and image perception. The flat, static images are now dynamic, subject to changes in the environment or in the observer’s point of view. Michael Koehle received his BA in Art Practice at UC Berkeley, his MS in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis, and his MFA in Studio Art from Mills College. He is an interdisciplinary artist who works with paint, medical imaging, photography, 3D printing, programming, and CNC machining. He has received the Headlands Center for the Arts Graduate Fellowship, and is currently an affiliate artist with Autodesk. http://michaelkoehleart.com/
