On the Edge surveys the work of 8 ceramic artists created during the last eight months while working at the Mendocino Art Center and Flynn Creek Potteries. They came from all over the country in September, 2013, and a synergy soon formed with a melding of ideas, new techniques and innovative spirit that has helped these artists take their work to the edge of creative expression. Each artist brought their own unique perspective and a focal range from content and narrative to form and firing techniques.
On the Edge is an up close observation of their best works created while at the Mendocino Art Center in conjunction with Flynn Creek Potteries. This show seeks to explore the interweaving of the artists ideas, techniques and art works as they share a common experience and become part of a California’s rich ceramic legacy.
Artists: Lizzie Helbig, Evan Hobart, Anthony Magnetti, Nick Schwartz, Hannah Meredith, Mark Jaeger, Jessica Thompson, and Suzanne Lussier.
Curator: Evan Hobart.
