The artist couple observes the intrinsic exchange of influence resulting from living and creating art side-by-side for the past 15 years. While not direct collaborations, their work intersects in execution, with latent conceptual and stylistic elements that appear unconsciously. As process driven painters, Kaye draws inspiration from her personal day-to-day life, while Nelson’s spiritually based practice embraces the moment more than the outcome. For this exhibition, Nelson will create a two-story, site-specific installation that will occupy the ground floor of the gallery. In addition, decisively placed drawings and paintings will direct viewers through the structure of wood lattices, vignettes and enclaves.
