Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1978
Snatchers Body the of Invasion is a mesmerizing work of art by artist Anne McGuire. Subjected to Anne's reverse-edit technique, the films take on new meaning and invite the viewer to reassess narrative and the meaning of the edit, as the new story unfolds. The tagline for the original film The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Phillip Kaufman, 1978) is: In San Francisco, a group of people discover the human race is being replaced one by one, with clones devoid of emotion. For my version of the film, the tagline reads: In San Francisco, a group of clones, devoid of emotion are slowly being replaced one by one, by humans. My film is meant to be a meditation, a magic spell, and, it’s fun to watch. The series also includes: STRAIN ANDROMEDA, THE (1993), ADVENTURE POSEIDON, THE (2006), and, INFERNO TOWERING, THE (2011).”
