The Cradle Project

The Cradle Project is a multifaceted traveling art exhibition that engages local artists in a global discussion about the HIV and AIDS crisis in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Cradle Project is a collaboration between participating contemporary artists and Firelight Foundation with a conceptual focus on the form of an empty cradle, a symbol that is meant to engage audiences on a visceral level about what it means when poverty and AIDS rob communities of their most valuable resource: children.

San Francisco’s exhibition brings together the work of 21 Bay Area-based artists alongside selections from previous exhibitions to show over 50 compelling works of art in an intimate gallery setting. Exhibiting artists include: Alexis Arnold, Morse Cosmos, Heidi Cramer, Jamie Emerick, Jane Farrar, Jorge Garcia, Vanesa Gingold, Matthew Gottschalk, Becky Johnson, Roderick Kiracofe, Kevin Krueger, Christina La Sala, Ben Marlowe, Meghan Martin, Wes Modes, Yulia Pinkusevich, Mie Preckler, Shushan Tesfuzigta, Luke Wilson, Lisa Wood and Laamsha Young.
