FraenkelLAB and The Thing Quarterly invite you to have refreshments and browse our selection of books and objects! For the duration of their time at The Shop The Thing is offering a very special 20% off merchandise. The Shop at FraenkelLAB presents a four-week-only pop-up store featuring books, posters, limited editions, and special events, open to the public from November 30 – December 24, 2016. Collaborators: The Thing Quarterly The California Sunday Magazine TBW Books Little Big Man Books Visitors to The Shop can discover signed posters by Nan Goldin, Katy Grannan, Alec Soth, Richard Learoyd, and Adam Fuss, as well as favorite Fraenkel Gallery books. For art-lovers looking for particularly unique gifts, The Shop will offer a curated array of anonymous and vernacular photographs. The Shop will also feature limited-edition publications and artworks, including Lee Friedlander’s large-format book America by Car; beautifully-printed broadsides of poetry accompanied by Robert Adams’ photographs; and San Francisco Panoramas, 1878 and 1990, by Eadweard Muybridge and Mark Klett. Join us on Fridays in December, when FraenkelLAB, The Thing Quarterly, The California Sunday Magazine, TBW Books, and Little Big Man Books will host a series of events and surprise visits with artists, including book and poster signings. FraenkelLAB is located at 1632 Market Street, and The Shop will be open Wednesday-Thursday 1pm-7pm, Friday-Saturday 12pm-8pm, and Sunday 1pm-4pm from November 30-December 23, with special hours on December 24 from 11am-6pm.
