There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch, August 2nd, 1-2PM, is a commentary on the culture of political pandering, it is a commentary culture of capitalism and debt slavery, it is a commentary on the nature of displacement. These issues are just a few at the center of the global state of social affairs. It is from this platform that There Is No Such Thing as a Free Lunch makes its action present. The rally point of San Francisco, one of America’s most shining cities of progress and social justice, is the first location for this action. Centered at Union Square, the city’s commercial heart, is where the action begins.
Through this action, The Future looks to expand of the usability of Climate Change to increase the visibility of social issues effecting the lives of the people that will and have been most impacted. It is never lost on those most affected that Climate Change is an issue that encapsulates all aspects of humanity. As the climate continues to change it will be the ones living in compromised areas that will be the first victims, it is the ones who are most vulnerable that are the most effected by the actions of the whole. In our action we move to show that we are determined not to become the broken mass used to fertilize a world of haves and have-nots but that our unity will be recognized and used to bring about security for all human life.
As wardens of the planet, the starting point for effecting Climate Change on the environment is to commit to the cultural climate changes that preserve the commons and halts current machinations poised to wreak havoc on the environment. In showing our commitment to making these changes our strength is realized. With our collective strength we exert our will over those who have managed to consolidate power through monetary and political maneuvering. Through our action we will reclaim the commons.
