Thresholds of Faith: Four Entries into the Beyond provides the space for four visual artists of differing faith backgrounds (Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim) to investigate the meaning of their spiritual practices and religious backgrounds through art making. This exhibition provides independent studio-like spaces in which focused explorations create unique vantage points from which broader platforms for energized interfaith dialogue can occur.
Thresholds of Faith: Entries into the Beyond stretches traditional expectations of clear boundaries between faiths and uncovers significant underlying dynamics in the personal/communal journey that each artist explores and through which finds an assuring wholeness (holiness) that art powerfully facilitates.
Starting at 1pm during the opening reception, each artist will briefly present the dynamic of her installation. The program includes our first Skype session with the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the conversation will be guided by the artist, Lynn Marie Kirby.
