Totem Figure
The Totem series by Jason Avery Kelch are a vibrant departure from his oil paintings. These experiments that started as a play of dashes of water colors on paper evolved into expressions of totemic icons and fertility figures. His playfulness and work in this very different medium creates a series of other worldly mythical beings floating against a sparse backdrop. These powerful figures, some nearly life size will be on display in the gallery for the month of April.
