Where: Prints and Paintings by Elisabeth Nicula
“Where” draws on highly distilled aspects of the natural landscape and touchstones of the virtual landscape—map pointers, speech bubbles, placeholder avatars—to elicit a sense of the emotional and physical distances between people. Silences, doubts, connections, and misunderstandings hang in the blank spaces. Work from this project will be up in the Graphic Arts Workshop Gallery as part of a new monthly series for the Dogpatch art cooperative. She was selected as a top-ten San Francisco Open Studios artist at ArtLaunch 2014, and this is her first solo show in San Francisco.
