The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Classic Cars West is proud to feature Oakland painter Emma Webster and her new work. Webster’s abstract, tapestry like paintings embody the teeming and chaotic sense of horror vaccui. In the artist’s words, “Every part of the painting is activated, chalk-full. They are busy; they have much to say." Come by during Oakland Art Murmur's First Friday this September 4th from 6-9 PM to see the work of this up-and-coming Oakland painter in our spacious gallery-cum-garage. Her show will be up until September 26th on Saturdays from 1-5 and by appointment. Catch this captivating show before its too late! About the Artist: Emma Webster is an emerging Oakland painter who graduated from Stanford University in 2011 with a BA in art practice. Recently, she was awarded residencies at Ox-Bow in Saugatuck, Mich., and the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vt. Her work has also been featured on online publications like Fresh Paint, Artsy, and Maake Magazine. More information and samples of her artwork can be found at www.emmawebster.com.
