Will Rogan is an artist whose work uses the physical world as a sculptural medium to examine its potential for beauty, manipulation and function in art making. His work addresses “things that are quiet in nature, but can be described by a larger idea.” Rogan and John Herschend are founders and editors of a quarterly periodical in the form of an object called THE THING. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and his Master of Fine Arts from University of California, Berkeley. This lecture is presented in conjunction with the Fine Arts Gallery exhibition “PLAY: Process: Activism, Subversion,” which features work by Rogan. Sponsored by the SF State Instructional Related Activities Fund.
