Intersection returns to its roots at Glide Memorial Church in the Tenderloin -- the symbolic place of its birth -- to celebrate 50 years of art and community. The evening, co-presented with Glide, features works by poets, performers and musicians from the past five decades, including Idris Ackamoor & Rhodessa Jones, Bill Berkson, Diana Gameros, Meklit Hadero, Nicole Klaymoon, Janice Mirikitani, Sean San Jose, Marcus Shelby and young artists from Youth Speaks. Anchoring the program is Intersection CORE Member Awesome Orchestra Collective under conductor David Moschler working in collaboration with Lyz Luke, director of Intersection CORE Member UnderCover Presents. Moschler and Luke have created a program that is a survey of the music that has been our collective soundtrack over the past fifty years, which also served as the backdrop to the unprecedented historical events that have transpired over the past five decades. RSVP on our Eventbrite Page.
The concert will be held at Glide Memorial Church.
