The Intersection Archive Show

Over the past fifty years, Intersection has amassed a collection of over two hundred boxes of archival materials. While promotional posters and postcards provide a fascinating visual landscape of the organization’s rich artistic history, there is much more to be mined. Artist and curator Lexa Walsh digs below the surface to create a multi-layered installation that explores Intersection’s history – warts and all. Staff meeting memos; phone messages; a mountain of receipts from the thousands of transactions of our fiscal sponsorship program; a bullhorn and a boa from a Campo Santo production --all are fair game for the curator to tell the story of this legendary, enduring, and essential San Francisco arts organization. The exhibition, combined with oral histories collected by Story Corps, podcasts and recordings from the Jazz at Intersection program, and videos of past performances will invite the visitor to experience Intersection’s rich history in deeply engaging and unexpected ways.

Exhibition Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, 12-4 PM

Every Saturday from noon to 4 is a chance to join the Archives.  Come and share your memories of Intersection!
